DEPARTMENT OF INSTRUMENTATION
Mission: Science to innovate energy
efficient, environment friendly and total quality products and processes.
Objectives :
|
-
|
to
provide solid foundation for the application of scientific principles. |
|
-
|
to
inculcate strong understanding for practical training. |
|
-
|
to
infuse extensive development of modeling products and processes. |
|
-
|
to
create realization that application of science is the only solution
to human problems. |
|
-
|
to
work extensively on innovation and creation of energy efficient,
environment friendly and total quality products and processes. |

Science
is important but it is more important to take up science as a process
and not as a product. Industrial development of countries and improvement
in the quality of life of people are associated with the application
of science. The spectacular innovation of the application of science
- atomic energy, computers, on-line production systems, aircraft,
telephones, plastics, guided rockets and television, has greatly
influenced the relationship of nations and the quality of life of
the people all over the world. The decade of 90's has witnessed
the renaissance in scientific research directed to have energy efficient,
environment friendly and zero defect products and machines. However,
now the global need is not to manage the product but to manage the
process so that the cost involved is minimal. On-line production
system of manufacturing and discovery of cost effective processes
are the major goals before the applied science today. The universal
concern for environmental quality and protection from degradation,
survival of all living beings and sustainable development has stressed
the need for more applied and advanced environmental science and
engineering research.
The
Institute of Applied Sciences aims to impart state of art theoretical
and practical knowledge to the students leading to the following
degrees:
