The language
of a country is of vital importance in the understanding of its
society and culture and hence, in determining the reactions of the
country to international events. An attempt to introduce students
to ethos of foreign countries by teaching the requisite language,
literature and civilization is necessary. Language courses attempt
to give students an active knowledge of foreign languages through
the audio-visual teaching methods. In addition to several foreign
languages, the Institute will also impart teaching and support research
in Indian Languages, Philosophy, English and Linguistics.
